Derived from Sanskrit अकल्का (akalkā). Sanskritic bahuvrīhi compound of অ- (o-) +‎ কল্কা (kolka). Or, structurally, by Bengali prefixation of অ- (o-) +‎ কল্কা (kolka), alternatively, by Bengali suffixation of অকল্ক (okolko) +‎ -আ (-a).
