  1. (pathology) Initialism of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease: a spectrum of disorders characterized by predominantly macrovesicular hepatic steatosis occurring in individuals in the absence of significant alcohol consumption.
    Synonym: MAFLD (metabolic (dysfunction)-associated fatty liver disease)
