Couldn't it be from the Anglo-Norman equivalent of French "dormeuse" (sleeperess)? The masculine form "dormeur" is attested in Old French and can therefore be postulated also for Anglo-Norman. 178.1.250.55 13:50, 11 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
