From *bunj, from Proto-Albanian *budnja, from Proto-Indo-European *bʰudʰ-ne/o, from *bʰewdʰ- (“to be wake, keep watch”) (compare Proto-Slavic *buditi (“to wake, to rouse”), Lithuanian budė́ti). According to Georgiev, from Thracian βουνον (vounon)[1]
