Etymology

Ultimately from Proto-Indo-European *bʰh₂u-ro-, from *bʰuh₂- (to be, become). Close to Proto-Germanic *būraz (inhabitant, dweller). Possibly through Germanic.[2] Possibly related to Thracian [script needed] (bur).[3]
