Etymology

Inherited from Ottoman Turkish هر گون (her gün),[1][2] from هر (her) +‎ گون (gün),[3][4] equivalent to compound of her (each, every) +‎ gün (day). Cognates with Azerbaijani hər gün, Bashkir һәр көн (hər kön), Kazakh әр күн (är kün), Kyrgyz ар күн (ar kün), Turkmen her gün, Uyghur ھەر كۈنى (her küni), Uzbek har kuni.
