Usage notes

• Refers to grammatically masculine nouns, honna being the feminine equivalent. In addition, hynny (or hynna colloquially in the north) is used nonreferentially, for example, when talking about a general situation, action or event, rather than any particular noun.
• May be reduced to 'na in colloquial language, whereas in formal language, hwnnw is preferred with the same meaning.
