From Ottoman Turkish یكیدن (yeñiden), from *yaŋï-dan /*yaŋa-dan (again, anew), originally ablative of Proto-Turkic *yaŋï /*yaŋa (new).

Cognate with Tatar яңадан (yañadan), Bashkir яңынан (yañınan), Kyrgyz жаңыдан (jaŋıdan), Kumyk янгыдан (yañıdan), Uzbek yangidan, Kazakh жаңадан (jañadan), etc.
