Inherited from Ottoman Turkish یوق بهاسنه (yoḳ bahasına, pahasına)[1] or یوق بهایه (yoḳ bahaya, pahaya),[2] from یوق (yoḳ) +‎ بها (baha, paha)[3][4] equivalent to yok (there isn't, not, none) +‎ paha (price, cost, value) +‎ -(s)ı (possessive suffix with "s" as buffer consonant) +‎ -(n)a (dative suffix with "n" as buffer consonant), literally for the price of nothing, for no price.
