Inherited from Proto-Turkic *bodu- (to paint).[1]

Cognate with Chuvash пӗве (pĕve), Turkish boyamak, Uzbek boʻyamoq, Bashkir буяу (buyaw) and Yakut бутуй (butuy).

بُذوُماقْ (boδūmāq) (third-person singular aorist بُذوُرْ (boδūr))

  1. (transitive) to paint, dye
    اُلْ توُنُغْ بُذوُدىِOl tōnuğ boδūdï̄.He dyed the garment.
