Learned borrowing from Classical Syriac, from Aramaic אַנְתְּוּן (ʾantūn); compare the dialectal alternative forms, Arabic أَنْتُمْ (ʔantum), Hebrew אַתֶּם (atém) and Akkadian 𒀜𒌅𒉡 (attunu).
