Etymology[edit]

Inherited from Old Marathi साळ (sāḷa), from Maharastri Prakrit 𑀲𑀸𑀮𑀸 (sālā), from Sanskrit शाला (śālā). Doublet of शाळा (śāḷā) and साळ (sāḷ).
