What about a Wiktionary:List of euphemisms ? -- youssef 07:49 Jul 4, 2003 (UTC)

Isn't a euphemism something like a meiosis? At least in the Netherlands, a euhpemism is often considered a antonym of hyperbole (even my teacher did it). Is it just bad education or is true? Mallerd 19:51, 3 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

It is true in the sense, that a euphemism is a meiosis of 'badness' or 'evilness'. - A special case of meiosis, if you will. --91.39.75.239 20:26, 15 June 2015 (UTC)Reply

Latin translation[edit]

http*//latinlexicon.org/definition.php?p1=4000984 & http*//latinlexicon.org/latinitas_recens_latine.php => Engl. euphemism = Lat. euphemismus, but Latin "euphemismus" is New Latin like "interrete", meaning "internet". Should New Latin words be marked in any way? -IP, 14:17, 24 November 2014 (UTC) (93.196.247.227)

Yes, use a context label like {{lb|la|New Latin}} preceding the definition. In the case of NL words mentioned in etymologies, we use {{etyl|NL.|...}} instead of {{etyl|la|...}}Ungoliant (falai) 21:55, 24 November 2014 (UTC)Reply
And in translations tables, {{qualifier|New Latin}} would be used. (Yeah, we have a lot of templates that italicize text.) - -sche (discuss) 23:23, 24 November 2014 (UTC)Reply
