incorrect and outdated pronunciation in audio sample[edit]

The audio sample of this word is a rare, and misleading pronounciation. The common way of saying skjuta is with a voiceless fricative, typical of the Swedish Sj-sound.

The person in the clip uses the old Sj-alternative which was said as: voiceless retroflex fricative. This way of pronouncing the Sj-sound is very uncommon, and almost never heard, as it was once used as an "upper class" distinction to change the fricative, to a retroflexive one.

And the person who actually uploaded the sample not only mislead users, but also chose a way of SJ-sound as a personal fucking preference, wich is a total asshole thing to do. Addeps3 (talk) 10:42, 15 May 2023 (UTC)Reply
