Etymology[edit]
Developed, in part, by the US Navy's "Project Yehudi" from 1943 onwards. (This etymology is missing or incomplete. Please add to it, or discuss it at the Etymology scriptorium. Particularly: “But who/what was Yehudi? Is it an eponym?”)

- (rare) Lights placed under aeroplanes that raise their brightness to the same level as that of the sky, as a form of camouflage.
