Etymology

Inherited from Ottoman Turkish صحیح (ṣaḥîḥ),[1][2] from Arabic صَحِيح (ṣaḥīḥ, complete, sound, correct, authentic), from صَحَّ (ṣaḥḥa, to be healthy, to be correct). Deviated semantically from sahih (authentic, original) in 1920s.[3]
